Gastronomy  The Flaugnarde with apricots

Our friend the chef Mayu from Japan shares with us her recipe of the Flaugnarde (or sometimes Flognarde). This dessert is actually similar to the French clafoutis but the fruits that we use are different. In the latter, we use cherries. In the Flaugnarde, we use other fruits: apples, blackberries, strawberries… In the following recipe, we will use apricots!

The dessert is very easy to prepare. Mayu's recipe is also easy to adapt with other fruits (mirabelles, reine-Claude...) so just pick the fruits you like!

This dessert comes from the Limousin region.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients for 4 people:
_300g fresh apricots
_30g butter
_2 eggs
_150 cc milk
_50g flour
_50g sugar

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Leave it to cool down.
Mix 2 eggs with a pinch of salt and whip like for an omelette. Add the sugar and mix until the whole mixture gets white.
Add the flour progressively. Then add the butter also slowly, and the milk.
The mixture should be smooth free from lumps.
Prepare a cake dish with butter and flour and preheat the oven at 190C.
Wash the apricots, cut them into halves and remove the stone.  Add them to the mixture.
Pour into the dish and heat for 30 – 45 minutes.
Bon appétit!
